New Concept Revealed at the Launch Party for Classic Party Rentals
Classic Party Rentals, the leading event rental company in the U.S., recently acquired TriServe Party Rentals, a partner of Thomas Preti Caterers’ since 1990. At the launch for our new partner, we introduced a new interactive concept, “A Study of Food.” Enclosed by bookcases, chefs prepared dishes such as Long Island Duck Ravioli and Miso Glazed Black Cod which were then placed in between shelves for guests to pick up on the other side. This unique setting allowed for Classic to prominently display their new wares on the shelves next to our delicious fare. The guests couldn’t miss either…it was partnership at its best. Thomas Preti Caterers hosted 40 caterers from around the country for the ICA’s (International Caterers Association’s) Bi-Annual Culinary Learning Journey. Past journeys have included trips to the Napa Valley and Tuscany. This time around the theme was, “the ICA Takes a Bite of The Big Apple.” Attendees ate their way through New York visiting culinary landmarks such as The Fulton Fish Market, Katz’s Deli & The French Culinary Institute.

2008 BizBash EventStyle Winner for Best Overall Catering: Astor Center’s “Wine and Dine” opening event; For the opening-night reception of Astor Center, Thomas Preti Caterers showcased the venue’s open kitchen and made the seasonally inspired menu the evening’s entertainment. Guests watched chefs demonstrate dishes such as pan-seared foie gras on brioche, braised short ribs, and mini lobster BLTs in the venue’s various cooking stations and on video screens. Servers passed additional hors d’oeuvres including wild-mushroom tortellini, spicy Thai coconut fish cakes, and chocolate chestnut tarts. Wine experts from the adjoining Astor Wine and Spirits were on hand to provide pairings for the dishes.
